WP01- RF (AdE)
CFT ok. 15th septembermeeting to evaluate offers
All components list is ok and data has been provided to WP05 feasibility study
Spinner proposed some development for an invacuum S-band RF isolator. We will likely opt for an SF6 solution.
WP02- Diag (FE)
Laser: itterbium telluride crystal laser from Ligth-conversion (lithuania) is compact (80x60x30 cm) sturdy, reliable (no realignment). The laser cooling system can be placed up to 50m far from the source. This system is also used by other accelerator facility in the world, such as ARES at DESY. FE is in contact with the relevant people.
WP03- Vacuum (HPM)
CDR SwisFEL mentions 16mm diameter chambers. This is feasible also for COLD.
AdE: vacuum valves for C-band waveguides?
HPM: yes from VAT
WP04- Mechanical Engeneering (TB)
no changes. meeting with SLAC. missing drawing of parts such as the structures in the quarter modules (and rafts) and the interface components to the external equipment.
Must obtain a drawing of the exiting infrastructure in the linac and slides from last meeting (ACTION).
PB: this is available. Infrared scan performed for linac refurbishment.
WP05-Infrastructure (SL, on behalf of YG)
Docuement feasibility being filled. Reminder to every one to contribute to the document.
WP06-Operation (JLR)
Presentation of installation steps including Linac refurbishment and COLD project.
BJ: Section 0 and diag-bump are on a girder already?
PB/VS: Section 0 is on a girder
(SL note post meeting: diag and dump need to be designed and are going to be on a dedicated girder as well)
VS: more equipment, cubicles, spares. This will require more space and space is presently FULL.
VS: in safety autorizations LN2 hazard should be considered for interventions in the tunnel
VS: dust close to the modulators at the linac entrance will be an issue. A second wall or SAS should be installed to isolate from the exterior.
BJ: the RF test cage has to stay in place?
VS: after assembly of the spare thermoionic gun it will not be needed, could be dismantled (and kept somewhere)
SW: the linac section 0, buncher and gun, should exit the tunnel before installation of COLD. This will make space and will probably simplify ASNR approval. also the problem of dust is reduced if the COLD installation is closer to the existing linac.
proposal: On Step3 verify if the linac refurbishment stays in the tunnel. Add a intermediate step with removal of Section0 and spare thermoionic gun. (ACTION)
GLB: supports the idea of SW and adds that in the place of Section0 an undulator could be placed
GLB: ASNR should be informed if undulators are one of the steps of the installation
GLB: a WP-photons could be added to the project
WP07-Control (RB)
no news. if new equipment, contact RB.
Also the rack "U" requirements for installations are moved from Control list to Operation List for WP05-infrastructure feasibility (ACTION)
WP08-Alignment (no news)
WP09-Safety (P.C.: meeting scheduled with FLUKA expert for ASNR documentation)
WP10-Magnets (GLB)
WP-11-Beam Dynamics (SL)
Simulations are more and more similar to the results produced at Frascati.
Humar Resources
QQ: work in progress
SW: may be COD positions could be opened? QQ: may be.
