The European Synchrotron
The European Photon and Neutron (EPN) Campus is located in Grenoble in South East France, about 3 hours by high-speed (TGV) train from Paris, 2 hours by bus from Geneva, and 1 hour by high-speed train from Lyon.
Regular participants should make their own travel arrangements to and from Grenoble and cover their travel expenses.

Tram line 'B' :
- serves Grenoble town center, including the bus and railway station. It allows easy access (even at night) from Grenoble town center to the ESRF.
- its terminus - 'Oxford' - is situated just 350 metres from the site entrance.

Site Access and Badges
The site is a restricted area and you will be asked to report in at the site entrance on arrival. You will need to produce proof of identification (passport or ID card ONLY) to enter.
You will be given a site entrance badge which you must present each time you wish to enter on site.
Please wear this badge on site over the whole period of the event.
Registration will take place in the main entrance of the ESRF Central Building, on the ground floor. You will also be given a workshop badge, which you will need to access the EPN Campus restaurant.
A limited number of single rooms has been reserved at the on-site Guest House for participants from 5th to 8th July, provided that the request for accommodation is made via the Registration Form. All rooms will be allocated on a first come, first served basis:
Please note that for security reasons, the Guest House is not available for accompanying persons.
Opening hours of the Guest House reception:
Monday to Friday: 7h00 - 20h00 / Weekends & public holidays: 7h00 - 12h00
If you arrive outside the opening hours you will have to ask for your room badge at the site entrance.
Meals / Social events
Lunches and dinners will be held at the EPN campus restaurant. Please remember to wear your workshop badge to access the restaurant.
The informal networking and picnic dinner on Wednesday 6th July will take place on the EPN campus lawn.
A personal Wifi code will be sent to you before the event (or on arrival)

Bike hire - Bikes can be hired from Metro Vélo at Grenoble railway station. For further details, visit the Veloplus website.
Walking - SIPAVAG is an organisation which manages marked footpaths / hiking trails in the Grenoble area. You can catch a bus or tram to the start of all the marked paths.

Shops and services
