The European Photon and Neutron (EPN) Campus is located in Grenoble in South East France, about 3 hours by high-speed (TGV) train from Paris, 2 hours by bus from Geneva, and 1 hour by high-speed train from Lyon.

Travel arrangements


Each participant should make their own travel arrangements to and from Grenoble and cover their travel expenses.

Tram line 'B':

- serves Grenoble town center, including the bus and railway station. It allows easy access (even at night) from Grenoble town center to the ESRF (EPN Campus). Between 07h and 19h, the trams run every 4 to 5 minutes.

- its terminus - 'Oxford' - is situated just 350 metres from the site entrance.

Airports


Airports closest to Grenoble are :

  • Lyon - Saint-Exupéry Airport 
    • Flixbus operates a shuttle service from the Lyon airport to Grenoble and back. You must book your bus ticket online (it is not possible to buy a ticket on the bus).
  • Geneva - Cointrin Airport
    • Blablacar operates a shuttle service from Geneva airport to Grenoble and back. You must book your bus ticket online (it is not possible to buy a ticket on the bus). Be careful when booking on Blablacar to choose the bus and not ride sharing in a private car.

 

Site Access and Badges


EPN Campus site (map)

The site is a restricted area and you will be asked to report in at the site entrance on arrival. You will need to produce proof of identification (passport, ID card, driver's licence ONLY) to enter.

You will be given a site entrance badge which you must present each time you wish to enter on site.
