Description

This third European Seminar on Accelerator Alignment will be held at the ESRF from 3 - 5 June 2025, following the success of the previous seminars in June 2023 and April 2024 at the ESRF and CERN. This seminar serves as a platform for knowledge exchange and collaboration, fostering a strong European community dedicated to Accelerator, Detector, and Beamline Alignment. Discussions will cover a range of key topics, including advanced instruments, measurement techniques, uncertainty analysis, the Engineering to Alignment (E2A) workflow, software solutions, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and workforce development challenges.

Double RF System (fundamental + harmonic) for SOLEIL-II (REMOTE) 25m

Synchrotron SOLEIL has now entered a new major upgrade phase with the
SOLEIL-II project, which aims at designing and operating a 4th generation
light source. The SOLEIL-II storage ring will rely on a double RF system
with fundamental and harmonic cavities, which will compensate the energy
loss per turn and provide long enough bunches to preserve the extremely low
emittance while insuring a suitable lifetime. A status of this RF system
study is reported in this presentation.

        Speaker: Massamba Diop (Synchrotron SOLEIL)
