WP01
LCWS workshop feedback from A.D.E. possibilityto echange with CLIC colleagues. CERN colleagues are waiting for the C3 structures test at high gradient: dark currents are a probelm not only for safety but they could limit the maximum gradient achievable. ADE is in contact with IHEP (China) as they have a similar set up and could reach 96MV/m before breacking an RF window. During the visit at CERN ADE will discuss further with the CERN colleagues about the C3 accelerating structures.
PB: Timing and synchronization should be a separated WP. No resources in the RF group for Timing and Synchronization. Need support from ISDD. May not have people for Low Level RF soon.
BR: we need to find the separation between synchronization/timing and LLRF systems.
PB: 1 FTE could be needed just for this task. Contact with Rhode Schwartz for a possible solution.
ADE: Synchronization problem comes from the non multiple RF frequency C-band 5.712 and S-band 2.998. We could ask SLAC if a design at 6GHz is possible.
PB: RF-units will be a problem at this frequency.
WP02
no news
WP03
HPM: RF gun drawings: gun has its own valve. may be does not need to add anything. Will prepare to use INFN style pumps, mor compact and ligth.
WP04
drawings folder exists. missing components drawings: magnets, diagnostics, Vacuum chambers. All drawing sent to Paul Berkvens. Additional measurmenets will be done by ALGE for the earth at the booster side.
WP05
YG: Processing data obtained. Soon meeting with different subgroups to clarify
SRE network for linac not enough for cooling. A new independent system could be a better and more maintainable and robuts solution with no harm to the USM. Need better characterization of the equipment.
WP06
BJ: opening of the doors of the linac worked well. no problem for maintenance. OK. Safety needs fencing of RF units. PC, PB, BJ, MD to discuss what is to be done.
Missing information of layout for cubicles. WP should inform BJ about their needs: magnets, vacuum(ok already), alignemnt, diag, rf, etc...
YG: equipment separated in different rack for the different installations.
CB: need magnet info. SL will send it to CB.
GLB: moovers are better then coils. approx: 2PS and 1 icepap needed for each magnet.
WP07
no news
WP08
DM: RASNIK alignment system to be further studies. Seems a system tested on CLIC. results of the tests are under study to understand the system and its performance. Will be in contact with CERN.
ADE: different diffraction pattern compared to set up proposed for CLIC.
DM: problems could be more profound. to be verified.
WP09
SL: Safety authorization is progressing.
PB: authorization for section0 should proceed even if it will not be done finally.
PB: safety danger for LN2 must be accounted for, for example with interlocked oxigen detection systems
WP10
CB: all magnets will be new designs.
WP11
SL: work in progress on error tolerances
WP12
GLB: meeting next week with SOLEIL
AOB:
GLB, CB and YG would like more information about the cryogenic system and cooling. May be using the same cryocoolers of the ID is possible? This would be more efficient, as using our expertise and known equipment. ACTION: Write email to E.Nanni.
SL: planning must evolve but tools not yet available.
PB: lead time for RF components can reach 18month. This should be taken in account in the planning
PB: what about RF deflector?
SL: ACTION: Write to D.Alesini concerning RF deflector.
