Python middle layer collaboration meeting

NOTES Meeting 12th February 2024

Name survey has 19 votes. 2 options have 9 votes each:
- python middle layer (but the acronim pyML may be mnissleading to python machine learning)
- pyPAI or PAI Particle Acclerator Interface
A new survey is requested with less options, including the 2 above and other 4 options
pyAML python Accelerator Middle Layer
python Virtual Accelerator  (does not include the use for opertion)
MML+
pyCAST python control agnostic synchrotron twin

Document scrolled looking at modifications only. Modifactions requested and corrections are approved by presents. Version 3.2 will be circualted.

A discussion is triggered concerning the GUI interfaces. Python GUIs are claimed to be slow by some of the participants. It is however likely that specific tools could be deveolopped to overcome the issue.
It is mentioned that the speed for plotting of matlab outperforms python by "orders of magnitude".
A dedicated discussion will be triggered during the next workshop.
Post meeting note: RADIASOFT company proposed to contribute to GUIs development and digital twin development.

The file budgetV1.1 is presented. Participants are reminded to indicate their potential contributions in person month.

Presentation on :
History of Matlab Middle Layer.
Introduction to Bluesky.
Journey to a Digital Twin
Developing a Python based Digital Shadow at BESSY II.

Follows an informal announcement of the next pyML workshop at DESY on 19-21 June 2024.
